Job Summary:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Civil Inspector to join our team. As a Civil Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications, including civil and structural tests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concrete coring.
  2. Performs destructive and nondestructive tests on metals and other materials through magnaflex, dyepenetrant, radiographic, tension and compression, paint thickness, and resistivity.
  3. Surveys underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding, and grade.
  4. Inspects and monitors piling installation to ensure location and bearing.
  5. Validates piping systems, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.
  6. Inspects electrical installations to ensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence to statutory and customer regulations.
  7. Continuously inspects painting and insulation to ensure thickness and coverage continuity.
  8. Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
  9. Verifies equipment alignment and balancing operations.
  10. Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures.
  11. Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.
  12. May administer welder qualification tests.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects, including road works, utilities, signage marking, and associated works.
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction specifications, and processes related to civil inspection.
  4. Strong analytical capabilities and ability to work independently.
