Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Housekeeping role is a vital position within our luxury hotel's operations. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this individual will oversee the daily activities of the housekeeping department, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and comfort for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Coordinate and supervise the housekeeping team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Cleanliness and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to uphold stringent cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and seamless operations.
  • Guest Services: Respond promptly and effectively to guest concerns and requests related to housekeeping services, collaborating with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards set by local regulations and the hotel, implementing proper procedures for hazardous materials and waste disposal.
  • Financial Management: Assist in preparing and managing the housekeeping department budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Performance Evaluation and Development: Conduct performance evaluations for housekeeping staff, providing feedback, recognition, and support for professional development opportunities.
  • Quality Assurance Program: Oversee the quality assurance program to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Assist in creating and managing housekeeping staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, especially front office and maintenance, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Expense Control: Assist in controlling departmental expenses within budget guidelines while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on housekeeping operations, including occupancy rates, inventory levels, and staff performance.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Leadership Experience: Prior experience in a similar role internationally or a minimum of 2 years in a luxury hotel, demonstrating a strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards.
