Job Description

Job Title: Housekeeping Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department at the Emirates Grand Hotel. This includes managing a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, and implementing effective systems for laundry, inventory control, and guest services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Management: Direct and coordinate the activities of the Housekeeping Department, including host relations, housekeeping functions, and laundry operations.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of housekeeping staff, including coaching, counseling, and disciplining as needed.
  • Guest Services: Ensure that guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, and that guest requests are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies, and ensure that orders are placed and received in a timely manner.
  • Laundry Operations: Oversee the laundry operations, including ensuring that guest laundry is laundered and delivered as per hotel standards.
  • Budgeting: Prepare and manage the annual housekeeping budget, ensuring that expenses are controlled and that the department operates within budget.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on departmental performance, including guest satisfaction, room cleanliness, and staff productivity.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in housekeeping or related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate and develop staff. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
