**Description**:
Reporting to the Principal Manager IoT & MPN, the Commercial Development Manager will be responsible for leading strategic and complex bid responses for VCPS on behalf of our Partner in the Middle East, a 5-year IoT engagement and thoroughly manage the Partner Engagement

This is a Partner-facing role that requires a deep understanding of Vodafone’s complex commercial operations, IoT global products and solutions (especially for Smart Cities) as well as the Partner’s business challenges.
The Commercial Development Manager will create a strong commercial strategy that delivers against the Partner’s objectives, whilst also driving profitable growth for Vodafone that mitigates business risk.
- Manage Partner and arrange Regular Partner Governance calls to define priorities, risks & resourcing
- Interact with the Enterprise management team in the Partner; participate in key meetings, understand their strategy, challenges and help them to connect with relevant programmes, initiatives and stakeholders in Vodafone.
- Understand Partner IoT portfolio (skills, capabilities, processes, organisational structure)
- Define, design & implement a project pre-qualification screening process for SmartCity or other IoT projects, including a commercial Governance process for the pre-qualified projects (EDRA-based) and a data set template with the necessary variables for Partner to host the project list
- Jointly evaluate the project prequalification pipeline for 12 months (rolling) and mutually agree for project-based engagement with a target to pre-qualify up to a pre-agreed number of projects per year
- Through the list of prequalified projects or otherwise, proactively identify, define and take to market new Enterprise projects & initiatives for the partner in the region and globally if needed including those committed as part of our partnership agreement, in the form of writing up, gaining approval and delivering new SoWs.
- Strategic build-up of Partner IoT Team upskilling through structured knowledge transfer. Increase engagement of key Enterprise stakeholders within the partner through delivery of workshops, webinars and events focused on innovation and best practice.
- Drive incremental revenue for Partner and for Vodafone, by implementing relevant programmes/ projects to enhance their business performance, predominantly in the Middle East region.

**Technical / professional qualifications**:

- Proven Commercial acumen achieved through experience working on complex sales pursuits in either a commercial, sales or bid related role
- Over 10 years of experience working for global corporates/organisations
- Over 10 years of experience in Commercial, Sales or Operations, leading virtual teams in the delivery of complex, global projects
- Understand the complexity of Vodafone and how it impacts our customer proposals
- A strong internal network with substantial experience of managing and developing business improvement in Vodafone OpCos and/or Group
- Knowledge and experience of IoT, Smart Cities and harnessing digital technologies to drive customer satisfaction and business performance, 10+ years of telco experience
- Outstanding commercial management skills - numerate, analytical & professional
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and influence colleagues without line control to access their support
- Experience of working internationally with different markets in different stages of maturity with people with different cultural backgrounds
- Experience of working with customers/partners in the GCC, knowledge of legal and regulatory considerations of the region.
