**Main Purpose of Role**:
The Head of Projects for MEA has overall responsibility for the delivery of MEA engineering service line projects. In alignment with the East EVP and in close cooperation with the Regional Head of Engineering (RHE) and Director of PMO, the Head of Projects is responsible for the execution of the engineering projects focusing on their timely completion and commercial performance (full P&L responsibility for the MEA Engineering Service Line).

The role includes hands-on knowledge and involvement in the details of the engineering projects providing day-to day management and guidance to the assigned Project Managers and Project Engineers. The Head of Projects is a member of both Regional Leadership and global Executive Leadership teams.

The role also actively works with the Regional Sales and Marketing team to assign bid managers from the project management pool and shape the main parameters of the engineering bids.

The MEA Head of Projects will be responsible for ensuring that all Project Managers and Project Engineers are fully aligned to our company Project Performance and EBOK initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Timely deliver engineering service line projects in line with the as-sold revenue and gross margin targets with a focus on a positive cash flow (full P&L responsibility for the Engineering Service Line).
- Provide regular internal communications on projects’ performance and updates in collaboration with the MEA Region Leadership Team.
- Resolve together with the MEA Region Leadership Team any performance issues within the region that may impact the ability to deliver the projects.
- Regularly assess project performance with the delivery teams and identify corrective actions to the project as and when needed.
- Provide client feedback on project delivery standards to the Head of Engineering (engineering quality) and PMO Director (project control quality) to improve.
- Encourage sharing of best practice group-wide through our Engineering Body of Knowledge (EBOK) and Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Ensure that all engineering projects are delivered as per our contractual commitments to the highest quality standard and on time.
- Proactive involvement in the management of Engineering staff utilization and Service Line Overhead costs as per the budget targets.
- Deployment of risk management process in the engineering projects and proactive management of the project risks and opportunities.
- Deployment of change management process in the engineering projects and ensure that all changes are executed once formally approved by the clients.
- Commercial & Legal: All Group Policies and the MEA Region Delegation of Authority
- Finance, including project accounting, travel, expenses, allowances and procurement.
- HR, including the participation of all local staff in performance and development.
- Willingness to travel as required to support business needs.
- Is responsible for the management of the project delivery team (Project Managers and Project Engineers). This includes the recruitment of qualified individuals, monitoring of employees’ performance, and management of resources. Maintaining and developing the expertise of Department personnel in terms of:

- Working methods.
- Project Management training.
- Career planning of individuals with the HR teams
- Ensures the proper coordination with other departments to optimize the priorities of projects interests
- Provides appropriate input to proposals and pre-qualifications
- Responsible to setting and delivering the annual Engineering Service Line budget.

**Qualifications/Knowledge / Experience (Skills)**:

- Engineering Bachelor’s degree level
- Project Management related degree, certification and/or professional membership
- Chartered Engineer
- Minimum 5 years’ experience successfully leading an Engineering delivery team (preferably for a Tier 1/Tier 2 Engineering Consultant) and 20 years+ Energy Sector industry experience.
- Must have experience in managing mid-size and large FEED and Detailed Design engineering scopes and successful project engineering execution and delivery.
- Regional Knowledge and Experience: GCC engineering consultancy experience, having worked with NOCs, IOCs and EPC Clients in the region in the capacity of Project Manager / Head of Projects.
- Mix of Upstream and Midstream project experience is essential; Renewable energy project experience would be useful but not essential.
- Prior engineering design experience will be an added advantage.
- Must have strong experience of managing projects on 3D platforms.
- Must have experience of managing efficiently and cost-effective delivery from subcontractors.
- Excellent people management skills - knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, resource modelling, people management and motivational leadership.
