VP - Risk will be reporting to the SVP - Operations & Strategy

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft and maintain the risk management policies and procedures, including the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
- Perform risk monitoring and identification reviews in line with the direction of the Board.
- Lead the preparation of the annual Internal Risk Assessment Process.
- Assist with ad hoc risk management projects, as directed by the Board, monitoring tasks and overall delivery.

**Experience**:

- 8+ years of experience with an MBA degree or equivalent qualification
- Web3 / blockchain industry experience mandatorily required
- Ability to quickly learn and grasp the technicalities of wallet infrastructure

**Requirements**:

- Analytical Skills: Risk officers must have the ability to analyse complex data to identify potential risks. This can involve forecasting, modelling, and a deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methods.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Once a risk is identified, a risk officer needs to be able to develop effective strategies and solutions to mitigate that risk.
- Communication Skills: A risk officer must communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including management, employees, and regulators. They should be able to explain complex risk scenarios and mitigation strategies in simple terms.
- Financial Acumen: A deep understanding of financial markets, financial analysis, and financial risk is key, especially for risk officers in financial institutions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Risk officers should be knowledgeable about applicable regulations and compliance requirements, which can differ by industry and jurisdiction.
- Attention to Detail: Overlooking small details can lead to significant risks, so a meticulous approach to analysis and assessment is crucial.
- Strategic Planning: A risk officer must be able to develop strategic plans for managing risk. This involves considering both the short
- and long-term implications of different risk scenarios.
- Technological Proficiency: With the rise of technology and the increased risk of cyber threats, a risk officer should be familiar with IT systems and understand cyber risk.
- Decision-Making Skills: Risk officers often have to make tough decisions under pressure. They must be able to weigh the pros and cons of different options and make informed decisions.
- Leadership Skills: A risk officer often has to lead a team and promote a risk-aware culture throughout the organisation. This requires leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
