**Role Overview**
We are seeking a part time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to join ZR Consultants. If you have a passion for accounting in the UK & UAE, and want to expand your knowledge, this could be the opportunity for you
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with various accounting functions for the company. This is a critical role that will play a key part in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the company in the UK and UAE. They will be up to date with HMRC requirements (Including TAX, PAYE, VAT etc.) and they must have experience of UAE corporation tax, VAT and accounting requirements (including allowable and disallowable expenses).
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Record financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and disbursements
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts on a monthly basis (Including Accounts with different currencies)
- Prepare and file relevant UK tax returns and forms, such as VAT, PAYE, and Self-Assessment
- Must be confident in registering and filing for the new UAE Corporation Tax requirements
- Maintain detailed and organised financial records, both electronically and in physical files
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and provide support for the annual audit
- Able to operate payroll using MoneySoft Payroll Manager supported by external complex calculations based on timesheets.
- Provide financial reports and data analysis to management as required. Management would like to get to a position of having Management accounts shared Monthly or Quarterly with all the items fully reconciled.
- Ensure all bookkeeping practices adhere to relevant accounting standards and legal requirements
- Investigate any applicable Tax laws and provide recommendations on how we adhere to them based on any applicable legislation
- Help implement and maintain efficient bookkeeping procedures and controls
- Provide general administrative support as needed
**Qualifications / Skills**:
- Ideally you'll have a degree in Accounting, are studying for your AAT or ACCA or shall have relevant experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in the UK or UAE
- Strong working knowledge of UK and UAE accounting principles, tax regulations, and bookkeeping best practices
- Proficient in using Xero or similar software
- Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Sharepoint and in particular advance skills in Excel (Pivot tables, reports etc.)
- Desire to learn and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
