**Position Title: Accounting and Bookkeeping Accountant**
**Reporting Manager: Finance Manager/ Director of Finance**
**Job Summary**:
The Accounting and Bookkeeping Accountant is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves a combination of bookkeeping, accounting, and financial reporting duties to support the overall financial health of the organization.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Bookkeeping**:
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
**Accounting**:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries as necessary.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant laws and regulations.
**Financial Reporting**:
- Generate financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support internal and external audits.
**Compliance and Internal Controls**:
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.
- Monitor and enforce financial policies, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
**Software and Systems**:
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) for financial transactions and reporting.
- Maintain proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work closely with other departments to gather necessary financial data.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding financial operations and issues.
- Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
**Work Environment**:
- Typical office setting with standard business hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end, year-end).
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Use of standard office equipment (e.g., computers, printers, copiers).
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
