Operations Duty Officer

**Overview**:
- Address complaints and key concerns impacting staff morale and performance.
- Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions.
- Develop partnerships with airport agencies, authorities, customers or vendors.
- Develop plans to enhance flight control operations.
- Develop recovery plans to improve flight schedules by reviewing investigation outcomes and causes of irregular operations.
- Develop staff through capability development and coaching.
- Develop strategies to improve flight operations.
- Develop systems to ensure safety or security standards are followed.
- Encourage inputs from all levels for process improvement.
- Execute emergency response plans where required.
- Identify safety or security risks and develop plans to reduce identified risks.
- Lead change management in the organization.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to improve safety or security.
- Oversee daily management of Operations Control Centre (OCC).
- Propose changes for continuous improvement plans.
- Provide updates on flight operations information to stakeholders.
- Work with flight personnel, airline representatives and airport authorities to develop and review flight plans.
- Dealing with serious issues that impact the airline, such as air traffic control problems and adverse weather conditions.
- Preparing preflight administration, flight plans and flight briefings.
- Maintaining the aircraft schedule to ensure they meet airport and airspace regulations.
- Remaining in constant communication with the pilot to ensure that the flight adheres to its flight route.
- Acting as the middleman between the pilot and ground services.
- Checking the visibility at both the departure airport and the destination airport to identify potential hazards.
- Preparing flight plans containing information about the conditions, maximum allowable takeoff plan, weather conditions, and other information vital to the safe
- completion of a flight.
- Providing pilots with alternative flight plants in case of an emergency
- Perform other tasks requested by Management.

**Academic/Technical/Professional Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent
- Dispatcher License is a Must
- 5 years aviation experience is a must
- Dispatch license is a must
- 3 - 4 years aviation experience is a must
- 2 years minimum trip support experience is a must
**Technical / Functional Competencies**:
- Reporting
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Strong computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
**Experience**:
- in aviation industry: 3 years (required)
