**Job Title**: HR Officer - Payroll
**Job Summary**:
The HR Officer - Payroll is a pivotal role within the Human Resources department, responsible for managing and processing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and providing support to employees regarding payroll-related matters. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and record-keeping.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Payroll Processing**:
1. Collect and verify time and attendance data from employees and other relevant sources.
2. Calculate and process employee payroll, including regular and overtime hours, deductions, and benefits.
3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and wage laws, including withholding and reporting.
4. Review and verify payroll data for accuracy before processing.
**Benefits Administration**:
1. Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other financial components.
2. Enroll new employees in benefit programs and facilitate changes for existing employees.
3. Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and provide information as needed.
**Tax Compliance**:
1. Process and file federal, state, and local payroll taxes accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
2. Prepare and distribute annual tax forms, such as W-2s.
3. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure that payroll processes remain compliant.
**Records Maintenance**:
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and benefits.
2. Prepare and maintain employee payroll files in compliance with data protection laws and retention policies.
**Payment Distribution**:
1. Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of employee paychecks, direct deposits, and other financial transactions.
2. Handle and resolve any issues related to payroll payments or discrepancies.
**Reporting**:
1. Generate and distribute regular payroll reports to management.
2. Provide data for accounting and auditing purposes, as well as support financial reporting needs.
**Compliance and Policy Adherence**:
1. Ensure that all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
2. Address any payroll-related compliance issues promptly and accurately.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.
- Familiarity with payroll software, accounting systems, and HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and time management abilities.
- Ethical and trustworthy conduct.
- Relevant HR or payroll certifications are a plus.
**Working Conditions**:
- HR Officers - Payroll typically work in an office setting, primarily within the HR department.
- The position involves handling confidential employee information and financial data.
- Work hours are typically during regular office hours, with occasional overtime during payroll processing periods.
**Salary**: AED5,000.00 - AED5,500.00 per month
