The Storekeeper cum Manpower Coordinator is a vital role within an interior fitout company responsible for managing the inventory, materials, and equipment at the company's warehouse or storage facility. Additionally, the incumbent takes on the responsibility of coordinating the allocation and deployment of manpower resources to various projects. This dual role demands a strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to ensure the smooth functioning of the company's operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing materials, equipment, and tools.
- Organize and oversee the storage of inventory in a systematic manner for easy accessibility and proper stock rotation.
- Regularly conduct physical counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to order necessary materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and equipment, checking for damages and discrepancies.
- Safely handle and store all inventory items, adhering to proper handling and storage guidelines.
- Implement best practices to optimize warehouse space and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand the manpower requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Assess the skills and availability of labor resources within the company's workforce.
- Coordinate the allocation of manpower resources to different projects based on their availability, skills, and project needs.
- Monitor the attendance and productivity of manpower resources and report any issues to the management.
- Maintain accurate records of manpower assignments, working hours, and project allocation details.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and manpower utilization.
- Report any inventory shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the relevant stakeholders promptly.
- Work closely with the procurement, project management, and HR teams to ensure a seamless flow of information and resources.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to coordinate material deliveries and returns.
- Communicate effectively with the workforce to ensure they are informed about their project assignments and any changes in schedules.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines within the warehouse and project sites.
- Promote a safety-conscious culture among the workforce and ensure they are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Additional certifications in inventory management or supply chain will be an advantage.
- Proven experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or logistics coordination, preferably in the construction or interior fitout industry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with different teams and personnel.
- Proficient in using computer software for inventory management and reporting (e.g., Excel, inventory management systems).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehousing and construction sites.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Driving license is a plus.
