Roles and responsibilities

CoreResponsibilities:

  • Engagewith potential clients to understand needs and guidePIOC's integration strategies, strengthening ourcompetitive position in the international portsector.
  • Manage and update project plans,assumptions, targets, timelines, budgets, and SOPs to ensureclarity and consistency.
  • Participate ininternal and external tender evaluations, verifying technicalrequirements and terms for bids.
  • Leadpost-project evaluations and conduct market analysis to assessproject outcomes, identify growth opportunities, and recommendimprovement plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports forPIOC Management and the International Office on project progressand outcomes.
  • Oversee project governanceprocesses, including tracking deadlines, resources, anddeliverables.
  • Proactively manage project risksand implement strategies to mitigate potentialimpacts.

People ManagementResponsibilities:

  • Provideexpertise and support to project leads, ensuring strategicobjectives are met and taking charge of project workstreams asneeded.
  • Build and strengthen professionalrelationships across teams and departments, promoting acollaborative approach.
  • Offer visionaryleadership and guidance to the team, setting clear goals andfostering a culture of accountability.
  • Identifytraining needs and skill gaps to support consistent highperformance across teams.

StrategicResponsibilities:

  • Forgestrategic partnerships with shipping lines, government bodies, andindustry associations to drive growth andcollaboration.
  • Ensure alignment of departmentalbudgets, strategies, and HR initiatives with PIOC'scorporate strategy, fostering an integratedapproach.
  • Track and analyze KPIs to assess theeffectiveness of strategic initiatives, making data-drivenadjustments as needed.
  • Apply global bestpractices in integrating new international ports, mergers, andacquisitions to support PIOC's subsidiaries and jointventures.

Knowledge & SkillsRequired:

  • EducationalQualifications: Bachelor's degree inBusiness Administration, Project Management, Strategic Management,Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is aplus.
  • Certifications:Project management certificationpreferred.
  • Language Skills:Fluent English; Arabic is aplus.
  • Experience:Minimum of 8-10 years in a similar role, with abackground in Ports Management, Operations, orLogistics.
  • Core Skills:Proven ability to manage complex projects in afast-paced environment, exceptional interpersonal and communicationskills, strong risk management experience, and a collaborativeapproach to cross-functional projectdelivery.
  • Analytical Abilities:Strong strategic thinking and data analysis skills,with the ability to translate complex information into actionableproject decisions.
