Overview Of TheRole

To monitor quality ofassets in the Balance Sheet, evaluate / critically reviewFeasibility Studies/Business Cases prior to seeking IC/SeniorManagement approvals, drive the follow-on mandatory Post CompletionReview process and track / report Capital Expenditure spends. Also,carryout central tracking and reporting of loss-makingbusinesses/stores across AF Group, Monitoring & reportingof the off-balance sheet financial exposures, coordinate WACC ratessetup and identify/monitor assets for impairment testing andcarryout benchmarking for the various AF Group Businesses andPrincipals

What You WillDo

Monitorquality of assets in the Balance Sheet

  • Constantly monitor and report on thequality of working capital and other assets in the Balance Sheet tohighlight key issues during the Financial Review Meetings andBusiness Review Meetings for Managementattention.
  • Monitor adequacy of provisioning,impairments, write-offs, etc to ensure compliance with GroupFinancial Policies
  • Review of InvestmentProposals / AFEs / Business Plan / IANs pertaining to expansionsand M&As
  • Carryout criticalevaluation/review of new Investment Proposals / Business Plans /AFEs / IANs and M&As to ensure the proposed investmentsmeet the investments criterion set by the Group prior to theapproval by the AF Group SeniorManagement.
  • Drive the Post Completion Reviewexercise with the Divisions/Businesses to ensure compliance to DOAand ensuring executed projects perform in line with the approvalsprovided
  • As part of PCR process, highlightpotential impairment cases to the Management for early action andaccounting.
  • Coordinate with Corporate FinanceTeam for issue/update of WACC rates to the Business Divisions toensure updated rates are used by the Business Divisions in theinvestment proposals

Capital Expendituretracking and optimization

  • Centrally monitor the Capex Budgetand actual spend done by the Business Divisions to ensure the spendis within the Budget and explore ways to optimize thespend

Marginal andLoss-making Businesses/Stores

  • Carryout periodical analysis ofmarginal and loss-making businesses / showrooms / stores for SeniorManagement attention for turnaround / exit and to improve theoverall profitability of the AF Group
  • Trackingof action items agreed regarding the turnaround/closure of theloss-making businesses/stores for regular reporting

Benchmarkingexercise

  • Carryout benchmarking analysis on AFGroup/Business Division performance with select peers, competitors,Principals, etc. based on published information for information andany performance improvements

Off-Balance Sheetexposure tracking/reporting

  • Carryout periodical reporting ofoff-balance sheet exposure across AF Group for Management attentionand action

RequiredSkills

Requiredskills to be successful

  • Financial Management and reportingskills preferable with Corporate Finance experience includingfamiliarity with computerized financialsystems,
  • feasibility studiespreparation/review,
  • financial and datamodelling.
  • Reasonable knowledge andunderstanding of International Accounting Standards
