To assist patienttransfer to other departments.

To accompanypatients who are ready for discharge.

To transportequipment and patient records between departments.

  • Tosupport the registered nurse staff and ward clerk in the clericaladministrative and receptionist duties in the ward.

To assist in maintenance of stocksand nonmedical supplies.

  • Todevelop and utilize good communication skills and receive andpass on telephone message.

To correctly use aids and equipmentsupplied for patients. Report needs and obvious defects of thisequipment to the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in charge.

To cover theduties of the ward clerk in absence.

To advice theRegistered Nurse/ Midwife in charge of malfunctioning equipment.

To liaise withthe Registered Nurse/ Midwifes in charge in the assessment ofequipment and medical consumable items requirements.

To ensureappropriate utilization of resources effectively and efficiently.

To providepositive patient experience through the delivery of highqualitycustomer service.

To identifyunsafe care practices and contribute to corrective actions.

Observe andmaintain confidentiality of information data relating to patientsstaff service and the the organization.

To appropriatelyescalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.

  • Todemonstrate an understanding of positive health and promotepositive health. To ensure continuity of care the clinicassistant must update the physician/midwife in charge of any taskprocedures and advice given to the patient and his/ her family.

To work within the current policiesissued by hospital reporting any sickness and accidents to thephysician/Registered nurse/midwife and Nurse Manager.

To liaise withnursing colleagues and other professional standards hospitalpolicies and procedures local requirements and JCI standards.

To participate inany other duties that you may be asked to undertake by physician/Senior nursing staff within the scope of practice.

  • Toensure that patients/ clients belongings and valuebale are keptsafely adhering to local procedures.
  • To beable to administer and seek advice on the appropriate measures inan emergency.
  • To ensure that patient/clientsPrivacy maintained and that dignity and freedom ofchoice is enhanced.

Have fullknowledge of fire precautions and regulations.

  • Befamiliar with all types of Hospital codes and know how to telephonefor emergency services. The Clinic Assistant will alsobe expected to contribute to the wider corporate and organizationaldevelopment needs as appropriate within the scope of service.

The Clinic assistant will be expectedto ensure compliance with the requirement of the health and safetyregulations of the hospital.

Meets workdemands and is able to follow directions accurately.

To perform anyother duty as required by line manager that commensurate with thepost.

Preparepatient for examination by Doctor.

Assists Doctorand Registered nurse/ midwife in certain procedures e.g.Amniocentesis Amino Drainage CVS IUT.

Ensures that allprocedures and investigations are charged.

Ensure clinicsare clean and clinical waste is managed as per hospital/DOHguidelines.

Ensures treatmentrooms are cleaned after each procedure is completed.

Cleans usedinstruments as necessary before sending the instruments to CSSD forsterilization.

Cleans usedequipment after every use and dates/ signs clean equipment tag.

Maintainsinventory of all clinical trays and surgical instruments stored indoctors room and treatment room.

Assist inOutpatient clinics where required. Flexible in assignment whendirected by Registered Nurse/ Midwifes in charge.

  • Complyingconsistently with NMC policies procedures & practices.Maintain confidentiality with regards with anyinformation exchanged or received in current capacity in accordancewith confidentiality agreement and organizational policy.

Employee shall adhere to and followinfection control guidelines and quality standards as published byquality Department.

Employee mustunderstand and adhere to the Emergency preparedness plan / policy.

Participate inmandatory training and workshop as per organizational andregulators.

Dressappropriately as per organizational policy and the culture ofUnited Arab Emirates.

Comply with Wastemanagement procedures and policies.
