Summary:

A Container Conversion Manager in the container conversion field is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations, production, and engineering aspects of container conversion projects related to the design, construction, and modification of containers. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop container conversion project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Conversion Operations Supervisor, Conversion Supervisor, architects, and other stakeholders to establish project objectives and specifications.
  • Monitor progress on various projects and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
  • Create and review engineering designs and drawings for container conversions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects to develop innovative and functional designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to identify potential challenges and solutions.
  • Oversee the selection and integration of materials, systems, and components.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all work meets the required standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Address and resolve any issues or defects identified during inspections.
  • Prepare container conversion budgets and financial reports.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project costs.
  • Ensure all expenses are tracked and documented accurately.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and clients.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions to resolve project-related issues and ensure alignment among all parties.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and hazards on site.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the project team.

Qualifications:

Educational Background

Bachelor of Engineering

Technical Qualification / Certification

MS Office, Auto CAD 2D is preferred. Knowledge of container structure

Related Work Experience

At least 3 years' experience in the container industry within the U.A.E.

Technical/Functional Competency

  • Technical & container fabrication knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Computer knowledge, Interpersonal skills, communication skills.
  • Previous experience managing & supervising a steelwork fabrication workshop, container conversion is highly advantageous.
