JOB OVERVIEW:
The Area Sales Manager to oversee and expand our sales operations within a designated geographic area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, maintaining customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets.
This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills to drive business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company goals. Plan and execute territory-specific initiatives to increase market share and revenue.
o Team Leadership & Management:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of sales representatives or field executives. Set performance targets and Kpi's for the sales team and monitor progress. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
o Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and distributors. Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Identify and pursue opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.
o Market Analysis & Business Development:
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior in the assigned area. Identify new business opportunities and drive lead generation efforts. Provide market intelligence and feedback to support product development and marketing.
o Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance analysis. Report area performance to senior management on a regular basis. Use CRM tools and analytics to track sales metrics and improve team performance.
o Budget & Resource Management:
Manage area-level sales budgets and ensure optimal allocation of resources. Control expenses and improve cost-efficiency in sales operations.
o Cross-functional Coordination:
Collaborate with marketing, logistics, finance, and product teams to ensure smooth execution of sales strategies. Coordinate promotional campaigns and product launches within the region.
o Compliance & Standards:
Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing structures, and ethical sales practices. Maintain updated knowledge of industry regulations and company offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Proven work experience as an Area Sales Manager or similar role. o Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus. o Strong leadership and team management skills.
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. o Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategic plans.
o Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Willingness to travel within the assigned area as needed KEY ATTRIBUTES: o Industry-specific experience (e.g. Retail, B2B, FMCG).
o Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets. o Knowledge of local market dynamics and customer behavior.
