Roles and responsibilities
  • Be responsible for go-to-market planning and execution for Canonical's range of security and compliance products
  • Lead on content dissemination planning, campaign development and planning for planning product launches.
  • You will lead on the development of compelling messaging and positioning that emphasizes business value and connects with target audiences throughout the buying journey
  • Conceiving and executing customer base communications and marketing programs to upsell and cross sell into our large base of customers
  • Collaborating with demand generation teams, utilizing data and insights to create and improve strategies that drive traffic to our content, optimizing marketing funnels
  • Work with other teams to plan event, webinars and support paid and social media promotion
  • Create and publish content (online and print) in line with marketing plans to deliver on campaigns
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape to define product positioning that differentiates

Desired candidate profile

1. Product Positioning and Messaging

  • Market Research: Conduct deep market research and competitive analysis to understand market trends, customer needs, pain points, and competitive products. Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and solutions.
  • Value Proposition: Develop clear, concise, and compelling value propositions for cybersecurity products. Translate technical features into customer benefits that address pain points related to security, compliance, risk management, etc.
  • Messaging Framework: Create effective messaging that resonates with different audience segments (e.g., IT professionals, security executives, compliance officers). Ensure consistency across all communication channels.
  • Differentiation: Work on differentiating the product from competitors in the cybersecurity landscape by emphasizing unique features, use cases, and performance benefits.

2. Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy

  • Market Segmentation: Define target market segments, buyer personas, and ideal customer profiles (ICP) to guide product positioning and sales strategies.
  • Product Launches: Lead the product launch process by coordinating with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, engineering, sales, customer success) to ensure a successful product introduction to the market.
  • Sales Enablement: Provide the sales team with tools, resources, and training to effectively sell the cybersecurity product. This includes developing battle cards, competitive analyses, pitch decks, and objection-handling guides.
  • Campaigns: Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns to generate leads, build brand awareness, and educate prospects on the product's cybersecurity capabilities and benefits.

3. Customer and Market Insights

  • Customer Feedback: Collect and analyze feedback from customers, prospects, and sales teams to understand product reception, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Voice of the Customer (VOC): Act as the voice of the customer in internal discussions, ensuring the product marketing strategy aligns with customer needs and addresses their pain points.
  • Thought Leadership: Collaborate with product teams and external thought leaders to produce insightful content (e.g., blog posts, whitepapers, webinars, and case studies) on cybersecurity trends and best practices.

4. Content Development and Communication

  • Content Creation: Develop content for various marketing channels, including website copy, product datasheets, case studies, blog posts, email campaigns, and social media content. Ensure all materials speak to the product's value in solving cybersecurity problems.
  • Content Strategy: Create educational content that helps prospects understand the cybersecurity landscape and how your product addresses emerging threats. Position the company as an authority in the cybersecurity space.
  • Webinars and Events: Organize and participate in webinars, conferences, and trade shows to showcase the cybersecurity product, demonstrate use cases, and build relationships with potential customers.
