Roles and responsibilities

The role holder is responsible foroverseeing all vehicle service related issues and, overseeing therepairs and maintenance of vehicles with an aim to maximize theutilization of the fleet. Plans, schedules and executes thedeployment of new vehicles and de-fleet of active and total lossvehicles in line with company policy and regulatory compliance. Actas central focal point for all base stations in collatinginformation related to Invoicing, Insurance excess, de-fleeting ands.

Strategic

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the preparation andadministration of the fleet budget for all BaseStations.
  • Submit budget recommendations basedon historical and analytical data.
  • Monitorexpenditures. Policies and Processes .
  • Ensurescompliance to safety, quality environmental management policies,procedures and controls.
  • Think out of the boxto implement processes that help decrease costs and improveefficiency Reports.
  • Generates reports of allaccident related charges for recovery and non-recovery for approvaland adjustment of accounts.
  • Generates dailyreport of work orders and maintenance activities carried out forreconciliation with other concerned departments..
  • Provides necessary support to the manager byextracting data necessary to generate reports.

Operational

  • Directs repair and maintenance ofvehicles using in-house mechanic staff or outsourcing to beapproved vendors, as appropriate.
  • Monitorsdrivers for negligence of required vehicle services and reports tomanagement if further action isrequired.
  • Audits all service invoices byverifying the parts and labour rates associated with the serviceperformed on the vehicle .
  • Maintains accuraterecords of all fleet and equipment repairs andmaintenance.
  • Workshop invoice validation andcontrol on the same.
  • Strives to achieve thehighest levels of proficiency on all competencies and skillsrequired to perform the role.

PeopleManagement

  • Direct the fleet assistants takingtimely decision on day to day activities as and whenrequired.
  • Ensures strict adherence by the fleetstaffs in following the company's policies, processes& procedures.
  • Handling drivers queriesrelated to the vehicle maintenance &accidents.

Qualifications

Education& Certifications:

  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree(Preferably in Engineering).

Knowledge &Skill

  • Excellent analytical,inter-personnel, organizational & communicationalskills.
  • Ability to work underpressure.
  • Good understanding of Fleetmanagement requirements &dynamics.
  • High degree of integrity &honesty in all dealings.

Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevantexperience with at least 4 years in a similarrole.
  • Experience in automotive mechanicaldiagnosis and repair.
  • Ability to work underpressure.

  • VehicleMaintenance : Ensuring that all vehicles in the fleetare regularly serviced, repaired, and in good condition to avoiddowntime or accidents.
  • VehicleAcquisition and Disposal : Managing the purchasingand selling of vehicles as required, ensuring they meetorganizational needs and arecost-effective.
  • FleetUtilization : Optimizing vehicle usage and ensuringthey are being used efficiently, minimizingcosts.

  • 2. Logistics andCoordination

  • RoutePlanning : Coordinating the best routes for vehiclesto ensure timely deliveries or service appointments, and minimizingfuel consumption andwear-and-tear.
  • Scheduling :Planning and organizing the schedule for fleet vehicles to ensureavailability and coverage without anygaps.

  • 3. Compliance andRegulatoryKnowledge

  • Understandingof Local and National Regulations : Knowledge of lawsand regulations regarding fleet operations, such as driverlicensing, vehicle inspection, and transportationregulations.
  • SafetyStandards : Ensuring all vehicles meet safety andenvironmental standards, including regular checks for legalcompliance (e.g., emissions,inspections).
