5.Knowledge of Health and SafetyRegulations

  • FoodSafety and Hygiene: In-depth knowledge of foodsafety practices, such as safe handling of kitchen utensils andequipment, proper cleaning protocols, and maintaining healthstandards.
  • ChemicalHandling: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals andtheir safe use in cleaning dishes, floors, and kitchenequipment.
  • WorkplaceSafety: Ensuring that the team works safely,following procedures to prevent accidents, especially when handlinghot dishes, sharp knives, or heavy equipment.
Desired candidate profile

As Stewarding Supervisor you willsupport the operations of the Stewarding department by ensuringthat all systems and methods of operation are correctly followedand that facilities and equipment are properly cleaned. You willassist in supervising and training the Stewarding team members,scheduling of work and oversight to ensure that health and safetystandards are being followed and chemicals are being utilized andstored correctly. You will also manage the equipment stores andensure that all equipment is being effectively controlled andstored and that breakages are kept to a minimum. The leadershipteam will look to you to play an active role in leading and drivingthe energy conservation and environmental policies and practices ofthehotel.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma or equivalentvocational training.
  • Must have worked at least2 years as a Stewarding Supervisor in Hotels orRestaurants
  • Excellent attention to detail,speed, accuracy and follow-through
  • Knowledge ofproper chemical handling
  • Strongly committed toteamwork and customer service
  • Eye for detail toachieve operational excellence
