Overview We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join the Tax Law Department at a prominent energy company based in the Middle East.
The team provides expert tax legal advice to the company's business units, subsidiaries, and joint ventures, while collaborating closely with other departments within the organisation.
The Paralegal will play a key role in supporting lawyers in the Tax Law Department. This includes tasks such as reviewing legal agreements under the supervision of Tax Counsel, collecting and organising information, and preparing draft correspondence.
Key Responsibilities As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Conduct an initial review of legal documentation under the supervision of Tax Counsel.
  • Establish and execute workflows for collecting and storing information, including official documentation and supporting materials such as legal memorandums, emails, and presentations.
  • Assist Tax Counsel with administrative matters, such as liaising with outside counsel, tracking projects, organising meetings, preparing reports and meeting minutes, and drafting correspondence.

Minimum Requirements To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognised and accredited university. A Paralegal degree or certificate is preferred.
  • A minimum of nine (9) years of experience as a paralegal in a leading law firm, Big 4 accounting firm, or in-house legal department of a multinational company.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
