**What this opportunity involves**:
The successful individual should also have excellent planning and organisation skills in order to efficiently manage a full workload and competing priorities.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide support to the legal counsel on all legal and compliance matters.
- Assist with drafting and negotiating contracts and non-disclosure agreements associated with each of the company’s business lines, including assisting with tender responses where appropriate.
- Create and manage a central digital repository of all contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
- Support request for proposal (RFP) responses and follow up with appropriate internal teams.
- Exercise good commercial judgment to understand business needs and provide appropriate and responsive legal support.
- Provide oversight of compliance for the business and external clients.
- Ensure fulfilment of the regulatory requirements and adherence to company standards.
- Provide compliance advisory and updates on regulatory developments to the business.
- Ensure compliance with AML and ABC policies.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws e.g. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Support HR in maintaining policies and procedures that reinforce a culture of integrity within the company.
- Assist with monitoring all open legal issues involving the company and legal issues affecting the industry.
- Implement tools and processes necessary to mitigate risk and ensure compliance in all company processes.
**Requirements**:
- 5-6 years’ work experience as a paralegal (at least three of which have been in the UAE).
- Experience in contracts management and compliance is essential.
- Trained as a paralegal in common law or civil law jurisdiction.
- Experience working in the real estate industry would be advantageous.
- Experience in company law compliance is essential.
- Experience in AML/sanctions/Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) compliance is essential.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Hands-on personality, exceptional attention to detail and good work ethic.
- Ability to adapt, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Arabic speaking is not essential but would be advantageous.
