About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to join our Emirates Transport – MRO Team. This pivotal role focuses on operational excellence and strategy deployment in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities, driving efficiency across the Technical Services Division.

The Technical Specialist will provide essential support to service centers and conduct thorough technical evaluations of equipment, assets, and buses to ensure the highest quality and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define Technical Specifications: Develop and implement technical specifications for all MRO assets, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate Technical Offers: Assess and evaluate technical offers from suppliers for procurement of new equipment, ensuring optimal quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Investigate Technical Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into technical incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and proposing remediation measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor Work Processes: Continuously monitor work processes and report key metrics to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate Technical Services Centers: Assess and evaluate Technical Services Centers/Units to identify requirements for business process change or optimization, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Develop Operating Procedures: Develop and implement operating procedures or technology to achieve improved quality of processes, efficiency enhancement, and standards of service.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with internal and external partners (e.g., suppliers, technology vendors, administration, procurement functions, etc.) to harmonize quality and efficiency aspects across all technical services centers and units.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support and assistance in the planning, development, and implementation of new venture/workshop's guidance documents, operating procedures, and act as a technical advisor.
  • Recommend Improvements: Recommend use of new technologies, cost-saving techniques/materials, and improved quality and safety procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement Auditors' Recommendations: Ensure proper implementation of external auditors' recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and maintain accurate records of process audits.
  • Evaluate Workshop Equipment: Evaluate workshop equipment requisition and prepare evaluation reports, and contact with suppliers regarding any specification or data sheets of equipment.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental Procedures: Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, policies, specifications, and standards.
Expected Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering: Possess a Bachelor's Degree in related Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Certified Training Courses: Be certified for specialized training courses in occupational health, environment, and safety.
Experience and Skills Set
  • Minimum 6 Years' Experience: Possess a minimum of 6 years' experience in a relevant field as a technical specialist, with UAE experience mandatory.
  • Lean Six Sigma Methodologies: Have knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Project Management Experience: Possess experience with project management.
  • Process Improvement Skills: Have the ability to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
