Overview:

The Library Resource Manager will oversee the organization and upkeep of both the physical and digital assets within the library. This position emphasizes the curation, structuring, and accessibility of a diverse array of informational resources for Halcon employees, encompassing both traditional print and digital formats.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Curate and sustain a varied collection of physical books, journals, digital materials, and other resources tailored for Halcon employees.
  • Execute professional library functions in collection enhancement, suggesting subscriptions or acquisitions as needed, and assessing the relevance and quality of both digital and print resources.
  • Manage the deployment and administration of the library's digital cataloging and circulation framework.
  • Classify and organize both physical and digital resources in accordance with established library classification systems (e.g., Dewey Decimal Classification).
  • Generate metadata and tags to improve and streamline searching capabilities within the digital library.
  • Assist employees in discovering and accessing both physical and digital resources, providing technical support to navigate the digital library platform and its offerings.
  • Develop instructional materials for employees on utilizing digital library resources effectively.
  • Offer reference services, respond to inquiries, and provide guidance on research methodologies and information retrieval techniques.
  • Remain knowledgeable about copyright regulations and licensing agreements to ensure compliance of the library's digital collection.
  • Conduct research to identify new technologies and digital trends pertinent to digital libraries.

Qualifications:

  • Required: 1-2 years of library experience, capability to manage a library's physical collection, familiarity with library cataloging systems, knowledge of digital library management systems, and technological proficiency.
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in English, History, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a corporate setting; proficiency in Arabic as a native language.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLS).
  • Understanding of digital library management systems and digital asset management, along with the ability to troubleshoot digital platforms.
