About the Role

Xeluxe Fire Safety Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Loss Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our operations by providing expert guidance and support in safety and loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment and Consequence Modeling:

  1. Perform Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) using industry-leading tools such as PHAST and FRED.
  2. Conduct consequence modeling to predict potential impacts of hazardous events.
  3. Develop hazardous area classification reports and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Project Support and Engineering:

  1. Provide safety and loss prevention expertise during conceptual studies, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and basic engineering stages for both facility modifications and new multidiscipline projects.
  2. Prepare detailed EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Scope of Work documents related to safety and loss prevention.

Safety Review and Leadership:

  1. Lead and participate in safety reviews, including HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, PHSE, LSEQRA, FHA, and PHA studies.
  2. Oversee cause and effects reviews, ensuring all safety implications are thoroughly analyzed and addressed.

Technical Documentation and Compliance:

  1. Prepare, review, and approve Loss Prevention deliverables for proposed modifications and new projects.
  2. Interpret and ensure adherence to safety codes, standards, and best practices relevant to the Oil and Gas industry.
  3. Provide technical support and interpretation of P&IDs, PFDs, logic diagrams, SAFE charts, and cause and effect diagrams.

HAZOP Studies:

  1. Lead and facilitate HAZOP studies to identify potential hazards and operability issues in process systems.
  2. Document findings and recommend corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in conducting HAZOP studies, consequence modeling, and QRA.
  • Proficiency in using safety and risk assessment software, such as PHAST, PHAPro, or similar tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of international safety standards and codes (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

Xeluxe Fire Safety Consultancy values candidates with:

  • Professional certification in process safety (e.g., CCPS, TUV Functional Safety Engineer).
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and their impact on process safety.
  • Experience in the chemical, oil, and gas, or manufacturing industries.
