About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Loss Prevention Specialist to join our team at H-E-B. As a key member of our Loss Prevention department, you will play a critical role in protecting our stores and assets from theft and other forms of loss.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detect and Resolve External Theft: Identify, investigate, and resolve theft incidents, recovering assets and making safe apprehensions as needed.
  • Educate and Train Store Partners: Educate store partners and management on Loss Prevention-related matters to improve theft awareness and maintain a safe store environment.
  • Conduct Inspections and Investigations: Conduct inspections of physical security standards and conduct surveillance, detain, and interview individuals apprehended in shoplifting incidents.
  • Write and Document Case Reports: Write and document case reports for theft incidents and weekly activity reports.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 Years of Experience: 1-2 years of experience in investigative auditing and/or retail Loss Prevention is required.
  • Investigative Techniques: Experience in and/or working knowledge of investigative techniques is required.
  • General Knowledge of Video Systems: A general knowledge of video systems is required.
  • PC Skills: Moderate PC skills, including MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and computer software programs/applications required by the job.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with bilingual language skills a plus.
  • Ability to Manage Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to Work with Confidential Information: Ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to Confront Individuals: Ability to confront individuals in a calm and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to Work in a Team Environment: Ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Demands
  • Lift Up to 20 lbs: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Travel and Extended Hours: Ability to travel by car or airplane with overnight stays, work extended hours, and rotating schedules.
  • Access to All Areas of the Store: Ability to access and move around all areas of the store quickly.
  • Reliable Transportation: A reliable source of transportation is required.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.
