About the Role

Xeluxe Fire Safety Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Loss Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our operations by providing expert guidance and support in safety and loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment and Consequence Modeling:
    • Perform Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) using industry-leading tools such as PHAST and FRED.
    • Conduct consequence modeling to predict potential impacts of hazardous events.
    • Develop hazardous area classification reports and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Support and Engineering:
    • Provide safety and loss prevention expertise during conceptual studies, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and basic engineering stages for both facility modifications and new multidiscipline projects.
    • Prepare detailed EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Scope of Work documents related to safety and loss prevention.
  • Safety Review and Leadership:
    • Lead and participate in safety reviews, including HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, PHSE, LSE, QRA, FHA, and PHA studies.
    • Oversee cause and effects reviews, ensuring all safety implications are thoroughly analyzed and addressed.
  • Technical Documentation and Compliance:
    • Prepare, review, and approve Loss Prevention deliverables for proposed modifications and new projects.
    • Interpret and ensure adherence to safety codes, standards, and best practices relevant to the Oil and Gas industry.
    • Provide technical support and interpretation of P&IDs, PFDs, logic diagrams, SAFE charts, and cause and effect diagrams.
  • HAZOP Studies:
    • Lead and facilitate HAZOP studies to identify potential hazards and operability issues in process systems.
    • Document findings and recommend corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in conducting HAZOP studies, consequence modeling, and QRA.
  • Proficiency in using safety and risk assessment software such as PHAST, PHAPro, or similar tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of international safety standards and codes (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification in process safety (e.g., CCPS, TUV Functional Safety Engineer).
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and their impact on process safety.
  • Experience in the chemical, oil, and gas, or manufacturing industries.
