Job Overview

As a key member of the MatchaTalent team, the Senior Safety Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation of our comprehensive Safety Management System. This includes developing and maintaining associated safety processes, participating in self-assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

**Safety Process Development and Implementation**

  • Develop and maintain safety processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with onshore and offshore drilling rigs, workover equipment, and other support facilities.

**Risk Assessment and Mitigation**

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Participate in safety studies and activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies, including PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.

**Emergency Response and Incident Investigation**

  • Develop and review Emergency Response Plans for credible scenarios, with a working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS).
  • Respond to emergency situations and incidents, providing technical assistance and advice during or after regular working hours.
  • Support the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents, participating in incident investigations to determine root causes and making proper recommendations to prevent recurrence.

**Training and Development**

  • Deliver Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties.
  • Mentor other Loss Prevention personnel to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices.

**Requirements**

  • Strong understanding of safety management systems and risk mitigation methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
