Job Summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Electrical Advisor to join our team in Iraq/Basra. As an Electrical Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and monitoring programs to improve electrical equipment reliability at our onshore oil & gas plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Monitor Programs: Create and implement programs to enhance electrical equipment reliability, identify potential issues, and provide engineering solutions.
  • Electrical Equipment Management: Identify obsolete equipment, plan for upgrades, and ensure a reliable electrical system.
  • Engineering Solutions: Deliver engineering solutions related to electrical systems for day-to-day oil and gas operations.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause and failure analysis for any trips that occur in the oil and gas plant.
  • Non-Conformance Tracking: Maintain a list of electrical non-conformances and follow up on action items.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support in procurement of electrical equipment and materials when required.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate and communicate with other disciplines as an electrical focal point.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in onshore upstream oil & gas plant and/or petrochemical and/or refinery industry as a Senior Electrical Engineer.
  • Knowledge: Good understanding and knowledge of upstream oil & gas onshore processing and facilities, electrical equipment, and international codes and standards.
  • Skills: Proficient in design, selection, and sizing of HV/MV/LV electrical equipment, proficient in ETAP software, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
