We are seeking a skilled Fitter - Rudder Propeller to join our team at DP World. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity of our rudder and propeller systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and Maintenance: Conduct thorough repairs and maintenance of rudder and propeller mechanical parts, including propeller blades, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Balancing and Polishing: Perform necessary balancing and polishing operations on rudder and propeller systems to maintain precision and efficiency.
  • Bedding and Gouging: Carry out bedding and gouging operations on rudder and propeller systems to ensure smooth operation and prevent damage.
  • Operational Support: Operate Cherry Pickers as required to support mechanical operations and ensure safe working practices.
  • Service and Maintenance: Service Blohm and Voss seal systems and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Leadership and Training: Perform duties of a Foreman as required and attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Quality Control: Ensure materials meet required standards prior to use and report any damages or defects.
  • Productivity and Efficiency: Work within allocated timescales to meet department targets and maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
  • Operational Continuity: Follow day-to-day operations related to the job to ensure continuity of work and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
