Electrical Substation Design Position

We are seeking a skilled CAD Draughtsman to join our team at Toshiba EMEA. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and layouts for electrical substation projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Equipment layout creation: Create detailed layouts for equipment placement in substations.
  • Single line diagram development: Develop single line diagrams for electrical systems as per the required standards.
  • Cable tray routing design: Design cable tray routing layouts, ensuring optimal routing paths and compliance with standards.
  • Earthing and lightning protection preparation: Prepare earthing and lightning protection layouts, including power and lighting layouts for substations, ensuring compliance with Transco/ADDC/AADC/DEWA/FEWA standards.
  • As-built drawing preparation: Prepare accurate as-built drawings reflecting the final installation of equipment and systems.
  • Installation drawing creation: Create detailed installation drawings for earthing systems and cable tray installations.
  • Quantity take-off conductance: Conduct quantity take-offs for materials including cable, cable trays, and earthing & lightning protection systems.
  • Material submittal preparation: Prepare material submittals for cable trays and earthing & lightning protection materials in line with project specifications.
  • MPE coordination layout preparation: Prepare MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination layouts, floor and slab opening details, and sleeve details for the efficient installation of systems.
  • HV cable route layout design: Design detailed HV (High Voltage) cable route layouts for substations, ensuring proper clearance and routing for high voltage systems.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a CAD Draughtsman in the electrical engineering or construction industry.
  • CAD skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and knowledge of electrical design.
  • Standards understanding: Strong understanding of electrical substation layouts and standards (Transco/ADDC/AADC/DEWA/FEWA).
  • Electrical systems knowledge: Good knowledge of electrical systems, including earthing and lightning protection.
  • Communication skills: Ability to interpret technical documents and project specifications.
  • Attention to detail: Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
