Position Overview

The HR Director plays a pivotal role as a hands-on leader within the organization, acting as a vital member of the Leadership team. This individual serves as a trusted consultant and specialist in human resources, spearheading significant initiatives such as talent development, performance evaluations, training programs, diverse recruitment strategies, direct labor salary progression, employee relations, and benefits management. The HR Director oversees the daily operations of the Human Resources Department and supervises team members.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Over 10 years of professional experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate with senior management.
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate ideas effectively.
  • Experience managing a large workforce (500+) within a complex organizational structure.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and communication proficiency.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Skilled in creating detailed presentations, reports, memos, recommendations, and business correspondence.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Professional HR Certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business advisor on HR issues to senior management and the Leadership team.
  • Lead initiatives focused on talent development, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business objectives.
  • Assess human resources processes and strategies for potential improvements, reporting findings to senior management.
  • Oversee the recruitment and interviewing processes to evaluate candidates' experience, skills, education, and organizational fit.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Core Activities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees, groups, and leadership to communicate company policies and provide guidance on organizational change and development.
  • Ensure effective HR strategies including coaching and counseling employees and management, sourcing and selection, performance management, and compensation.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, collaborating with departmental leaders to identify necessary skills and competencies for open positions.
  • Lead corporate and divisional projects, managing timelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Update and recommend HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with management guidelines.
  • Analyze compensation and benefits trends within the region.
  • Monitor and implement HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations and maintaining records to ensure legal compliance.
  • Facilitate employee performance management by training managers to effectively coach and address employee issues.
  • Organize and oversee new employee orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
  • Generate monthly headcount reports and track departmental employment levels.
  • Manage changes in employee status, including promotions, salary adjustments, transfers, and terminations.
  • Engage with employees and managers on the floor to understand their needs, concerns, and opportunities for enhanced engagement.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Act as a safety advocate, ensuring adherence to safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
