About the Role:

FORTES EDUCATION is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our wellbeing and leadership team, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing a counselling system for students across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality counselling intervention to students experiencing a wide range of emotional problems, ensuring equal access and promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure that students receive the support they need, and provide guidance and advice to parents, carers, and the school community.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people, conducting case consultations with school personnel and parents as needed.
  • Develop and deliver specialized guidance programmes for students who require additional support in social and emotional development, working closely with teachers and parents to identify and address individual needs.
  • Deliver therapeutic intervention based on the needs of individuals, and provide referrals to external services as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in school counselling or a related field, with a strong understanding of child development and emotional wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the school.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
