Job Title: Director Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director Development to join our team at Majid Al Futtaim. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in the preparation, presentation, and timely approval of all development plans, feasibilities, budgets, and amendments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development Planning: Assist senior development leadership in the preparation and presentation of development plans, feasibilities, and budgets, ensuring timely approval and compliance with governance requirements.
  • Design Coordination: Coordinate with the broader team to develop and deliver designs that align with sales purchase agreements (SPA) and meet the initial concepts and vision of luxury offerings, ensuring gateway approvals from the CEO.
  • Project Management: Ensure designs are detailed and coordinated to allow competitive bidding and buy-out of designs into the final delivered asset, managing any value engineering (VE) required to align prices with budget while maintaining luxury requirements and customer expectations.
  • Project Delivery: Successfully deliver luxury projects within the overall master-planned community, in strict accordance with Board Approved Requests (BAR) that outline required financial performance (KPIs) and include business case feasibility and overall product vision, ensuring compliance with Sales Purchase Agreements (SPA) with customers.
  • Community Development: Successfully deliver communities in alignment with the Master Development Programme, inclusive of public amenities, landscaping, streetscape, services, utilities, and provisions, completely approved by all relevant authorities and instrumentalities.
  • Customer Interface: Interface with VIP customers as required, managing the delivery journey, addressing concerns, requests, changes, updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction rating targets are met or exceeded, addressing customer issues efficiently and professionally, and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders within the design and delivery lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate direct reports within the team to ensure best teamwork, coordination, quality outcomes that reflect MAF Values and exceed KPIs set within the team and broader group, providing mentoring and support to ensure all staff receive full opportunities to meet or exceed their targets and develop and advance within MAF.
  • Product Definition: Lead ongoing product definition, updated design brief, ongoing project brief, cost estimation, and budgeting compliance with the help of Project Management and other functions within the company.
