Position Overview:

The Vice President of Legal Affairs will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s legal operations, delivering expert legal counsel on various matters that impact the business. Key Duties:

  • Lead and manage the organization’s legal functions, including compliance with regulations, protection of intellectual property, management of contracts, corporate governance, and employment law.
  • Formulate legal strategies and positions, ensuring that all practices, policies, business operations, and partnerships adhere to applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Act as the principal legal advisor for significant business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Supervise external legal counsel on critical legal issues, ensuring high-quality legal services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Provide guidance on legal aspects of financing, including evaluating and advising on business structures and legal entities.
  • Proactively identify and address legal issues and risks that may affect the organization, developing effective solutions.
  • Establish and manage a compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Contribute to the development of business strategies from a legal perspective, ensuring all initiatives are legally sound.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the legal team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary legal contact for regulatory authorities, keeping updated on regulatory changes that may impact the cryptocurrency sector.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 4 years in a related field.
  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • Extensive experience as a practicing attorney, ideally with significant exposure to the cryptocurrency or related sectors such as financial technology or securities law.
  • In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment concerning cryptocurrencies, blockchain technologies, and digital assets.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, capable of solving complex problems and navigating a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing a legal team.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence senior business leaders.
  • Capacity to provide clear and concise legal advice in a dynamic business environment.
