Job Overview

The Assistant Manager Finance will play a key role in supporting the company's financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budgeting and Business Planning
    • Support the development of the company's business plan strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's shareholder mandate and integration with operational arms.

    • Ensure the company's strategic, operational, and financial planning processes are fully aligned and integrated.
  • Management and Business Performance Reporting
    • Responsible for generating management reports, analysis, and presentations to top management and shareholders.
    • Develop and enhance automated dashboards using business intelligence tools.
    • Manage the effectiveness of financial reporting systems, providing functional support and leadership to IT enhancement projects.
    • Alert senior management to potential cost control deficiencies or revenue leakages through business unit performance and profitability analysis.
  • Forecasting
    • Deliver accurate forecasts, high-quality decision support, and actionable insights to the business, supporting strategic decisions that grow the company.
    • Forecast revenues and profitability by projecting various business cases and scenarios, conducting sensitivity analysis.
    • Implement rolling forecasting to provide better visibility into future outcomes.
  • Feasibility Studies and Business Case Analysis
    • Evaluate the financial and strategic impacts of new business opportunities.
    • Develop analytic-driven decision-making processes.
  • Finance Transformation
    • Drive IT transformation and digitization of the finance function.
  • Other Activities
    • Act as a true business partner for the leadership team and business units' heads.
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis to assist in management decision-making.
    • Utilize technology to implement best practices in business planning, forecasting, and management reporting.
    • Assist in business process and systems improvements and optimization.
    • Design and implement financial policies and procedures relating to management reporting and business planning, conforming to shareholder frameworks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Conduct performance evaluation and appraisal of direct reports, assessing productivity and progress, identifying training needs to improve efficiency and career growth.
    About You

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following experience and credentials:

  1. Graduate in Accounting/Finance (MBA preferred).
  2. Professional certification such as a CPA, CFA, CA, ACCA, or CMA is preferred.
  3. 5+ years of relevant and managerial experience in Finance/Budgeting and Planning with a large organization, preferably in the media and/or leisure and entertainment industry.
  4. Proficient in Power BI, Excel, and Oracle.
  5. Timely and quality business plan preparation and compilation.
  6. Accuracy and timeliness of periodic financial reports.
  7. Accuracy of periodic financial forecasts.
  8. Compliance with corporate financial policies, procedures, and budget requirements.
  9. Independent, self-driven, and result-oriented performance and deliverables, prioritizing workload and meeting strict deadlines.
