Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial diligence of startup investments prior to investment decision, ensuring a thorough understanding of the company's financials and growth potential.
  • Interact with key investors and startup customers to capture insights and feedback, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth.
  • Engage with myGwork stakeholders to finalize partnership opportunities, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Develop all required materials needed to reach an investment decision, including financial models, market analyses, and due diligence reports.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategy and Partnership teams on select post-investment activities, ensuring seamless integration and maximum value creation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to each startup on future investment opportunities, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Provide connections to startups and relevant VC or Corporate investment partners, expanding their network and access to resources.
  • Run quarterly strategic sessions with portfolio companies (portcos), driving growth, and ensuring alignment with myGwork's strategic objectives.
  • Build quarterly and ad hoc reports on existing portcos, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage all investment-related activities in portfolio companies for future rounds of investment, ensuring a smooth and successful process.

Essential Skills

  • 7-10 years post-undergraduate experience, including working in or with medium/large corporations, with a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with early-stage strategic investment activities, including risk assessment, captable analysis, comp analysis, pipeline coverage analysis, pro-forma analysis, and contract review.
  • Passion for new technology that will shape the future of finance, with a keen eye for innovation and disruption.
  • Strong attention to detail and robust analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into executive-ready insights.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Capable of managing multiple deals running simultaneously, with excellent time management and organizational skills.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Experience in venture capital, corporate development (corp dev), and/or corporate venture capital (CVC), with a deep understanding of the investment landscape.
  • Excellent writing/grammar/editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and reports.
  • Previous sales experience, contract experience, or investment experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to create engaging presentations and complex financial models.
