Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to measure procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms to ensure maximum value for the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation and effective communication.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power and make informed procurement decisions.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to ensure procurement processes are aligned with business objectives.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure adequate inventory and supply chain capacity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in procurement or a related field, preferably within the engineering industry.
  • Adept at understanding the effect of NPI and planning around inventory and where NPI will fit in.
  • Proven people management ability and leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to analyze and forecast financial trends.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.
