About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the development and implementation of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Systems Engineering, technical, and programmatic support to assigned projects.
  • Monitor technical progress and schedule of projects and products.
  • Develop System Engineering Notebook (SEN) to document decisions, risks, and/or system performance.
  • Develop risk assessments for projects, monitor risks and mitigations, and present risks to senior leadership as required.
  • Review products, generate documents, hold Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Lead or assist in transitioning technology to the warfighter from Research and Development (R&D) into development, production, and delivery.
  • Mentor project personnel for system engineering and technical aspects of the project. Help develop the next of Lead System Engineers and CHENGs.
  • Oversee the development of critiques as required to prevent a repeat of high-risk issues and promulgate lessons learned to the department.
Requirements
  • Serve duty aboard surface craft and submerged vessels.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area SYSTEMS DEVELOPER, ADVANCED level within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • Will be required to complete ethics within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
