Job Description for Technical Support Engineer

About the Role:

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our team. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop software and hardware technologies.
  2. Assist with troubleshooting issues on Windows Clients (End user machines).
  3. Experience with Service management tool – ex – Service now.
  4. Should have good expertise on EUC tools, remote support tools, MS office, and outlook.
  5. Preferable to have a good understanding of Lync, VPN, and mobile device support.
  6. Should be aware of ITIL process of Incident, Change, Problem, Service Request and related activities like spare and buffer stock management.
  7. Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role.
  8. Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments.
  9. Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners.
  10. Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
  11. Customer-oriented attitude.
  12. Fluent in English, Arabic, and other local languages.
  13. Telephonic support to End Users and coordination with Vendors, Client Problem Management.
  14. Proactive monitoring & Perform documented Escalation process.
  15. Troubleshooting on Application Support (Off Shelf or Customized).
  16. Troubleshooting on Printers & MFDs.
  17. Troubleshooting on VPN software and Collaboration tools.
  18. Troubleshooting on Password Reset tools and Remote-Control tools.
  19. Troubleshooting of MS Windows & Office, Desktops, Laptops, iPAD Peripherals and Networking.
  20. Troubleshooting Application and Workplace IT & Communications & Collaboration Support.
  21. Interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  22. Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 7, Windows 10 and Office 2013.

Requirements:

  • Good to have – Knowledge in AD and smart hands and feet support.
  • Good to have – Knowledge and experience in supporting MAC devices and tablets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT, or information systems, or equivalent experience.
