About the Role

iTech Management Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Civil BIM Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for assisting the Information Manager in developing and analyzing the virtual construction process to maximize construction efficiency, job cost savings, and enhance project documentation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. BIM Civil Engineer Responsibilities
  • Perform all BIM Civil Engineer responsibilities
Project Planning and Scheduling
  • Assist Information Manager in preparing BIM Guidelines for project-specific requirements
  • Assist Information Manager with planning and scheduling
BIM Model Development and Maintenance
  • Create and maintain BIM models for project-specific requirements
  • Develop schematic and detailed level models, including modeling structure, interior and exterior architectural elements, and MEP systems (as applicable)
Collaboration and Communication
  • Coordinate with BIM service providers and subcontractors
  • Configure and administer common data environments (ACC Collaboration)
Documentation and Reporting
  • Create shop drawings, as-built drawings
  • Create new library components
  • Responsible as Model Administrator for assigned projects
  • Update as-built and revised Building Information Model
  • Keep BIM revision log
  • Distribute new and revised models showing changes and RFI answers
  • Derive material quantities
  • Produce quantity reports per Client requirements
Project Coordination and Scheduling
  • Develop the modeling schedule
  • Prepare 4D simulations
  • Identify long lead items and integrate them into 4D simulations
  • Define scopes of work, evaluate site problems, and issue RFIs
Communication and Documentation
  • Update and distribute documents and models to subcontractors and maintain control logs (as applicable)
  • Prepare and maintain submittal logs and expediting log for BIM models
  • Attend and/or manage model coordination meetings and document project preconstruction/BIM meetings (write minutes)
Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate models with internal and subcontractor detailers and modelers Record coordination sign offs
  • Process shop drawing level models for approval
  • Assist project team with construction coordination and scheduling
  • Identify model constructability issues and propose solutions
Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years project experience, with duties as a lead coordinator Engineer, or equivalent
  • Must be able to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes, and systems
  • Must be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced working knowledge and experience with the following software applications as well as typically used terminology, standards, and practices: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Ability to use judgment, problem-solving ability, self-starting, and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors
  • Experience in BIM Automation like python, Dynamo, and C# preferred
  • Experience with Scan to BIM processes, which involve converting point cloud data from laser scans into accurate BIM models, is an added advantage
  • Experience in working with Transco projects is preferred
