Job Description

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Management Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilities Operations Management
  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
Preventive Maintenance
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance the longevity and efficiency of facilities equipment.
Team Management
  • Assist in managing and mentoring the facilities team, providing necessary technical training and support.
  • Ensure the team adheres to best practices in facilities management and safety protocols.
Vendor Management
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Monitor the quality of services provided by vendors, ensuring compliance with contracts and performance standards.
Reporting and Record-Keeping
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Prepare regular reports on facility operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents for review by management.
Emergency Response
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for facilities-related incidents.
  • Lead the response to facilities emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of our facilities.
Technical Competencies
  1. Operations - Operations Trainings Development and Delivery
  • Creates a culture of continuous learning across Asterix Communications operations to ensure employees and others are knowledgeable about the various aspects of operations and the right processes are in place to support the generation of trainings.
Operations - Operations Safety Standards
  • Knowledge of Safety Standards: Serves as an expert on Asterix Communications' policies and procedures and other local regulations related to community safety.
  • Managing Risks: Establishes safety-related risk management strategies that are aligned with Asterix Communications' overall strategy and advises on complex risk management plans.
  • Raising Awareness of Safety.
Operations - Knowledge of Terminal Operations
  • Knowledge of Terminal Operations: Acts as a subject matter expert on the network of terminal operations at Asterix Communications using own knowledge of industry trends and best practices to enhance the related standards, processes, equipment, and procedures.
Operations - Operations Support
  • Completing Operational Activities: Oversees the portfolio of projects/activities that impact the business areas, reviews objectives, and shifts resources and timelines as necessary, to ensure that the highest value activities receive priority.
  • Dealing with Government Bodies: Ensures the teams' processes and work completed are in compliance with the regulatory authorities, handles complex cases, and builds close relationships with regulatory bodies.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Essential Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Desirable Qualification: Diploma or Certificate in either Engineer or MEP.
  • Work Experience: 5+ years experience in Operations Training/Support.
