Job Title: FB Hostess

At IBIS, we are seeking a highly skilled and friendly FB Hostess to join our team. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting and Welcoming Guests: Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, making them feel at ease and setting the tone for a great dining experience.
  • Table Management: Escort guests to their tables, provide them with menus, and ensure that they have everything they need to enjoy their meal.
  • Reservations and Seating: Take reservations, manage the seating plan, and ensure that the restaurant is running efficiently.
  • Food and Beverage Knowledge: Provide recommendations on food and drink selections, as well as information about specials and promotions.
  • Guest Service: Ensure that guests are attended to promptly, address any requests or concerns they may have, and handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service, and work closely with the restaurant manager and staff to ensure that guest preferences and special requests are accommodated.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks such as taking reservations, managing guest lists, and updating restaurant seating arrangements.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
  • Cleanliness and Hygiene: Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, staff, and management.
  • Friendly and Welcoming Demeanour: Have a friendly and welcoming demeanour, with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to Multitask: Be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage: Have knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Previous Experience: Have previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
