Overview: A prominent semi-government hospital is in search of a proficient Pediatric Transplant Coordinator to enhance their pediatric transplant services. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring seamless transplant processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Oversee the comprehensive management of pediatric transplant cases, which includes patient evaluations, donor matching, and the scheduling of surgical procedures. Ensure effective collaboration among various departments involved in the transplant journey.
  • Patient Support: Provide extensive support to pediatric patients and their families throughout the transplant continuum. Offer insights on pre-transplant preparations, post-transplant care, and long-term follow-up strategies.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Supervise and track patient progress, ensuring adherence to established transplant protocols and clinical guidelines. Address any complications or issues that may arise during the transplant process.
  • Collaboration: Work in close partnership with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to guarantee integrated and effective patient care. Facilitate regular team meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain precise and detailed documentation of all transplant-related activities and patient interactions. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and accreditation standards.
  • Education and Training: Educate staff and healthcare providers on best practices in pediatric transplantation. Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance team knowledge and skills.
  • Quality Improvement: Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits related to transplant services. Analyze data and contribute to strategies aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and departmental performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medicine, or a related field (required); a Master's degree or specialized certification in Transplant Coordination is preferred. Qualifications from Western European institutions are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in pediatric transplantation with a robust background in coordinating complex transplant cases. Experience or education from Western European healthcare systems is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with strong clinical knowledge in pediatric transplantation and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • A current and valid professional license in the relevant field with eligibility for licensure in the applicable region.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Willingness to be based in the designated location.
