Floor Manager

ROLE OBJECTIVES:

  • To support the Floor Manager in organizing and overseeing service operations on the floor.
  • To assist in the preparation of the restaurant, ensuring all necessary setups are ready for service.
  • To possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu items and provide detailed explanations when requested.
  • To ensure exceptional service for our guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To adhere to our established Cycle of Service consistently.
  • To guarantee that service is executed professionally and aligns with the standards set by the Floor Manager.
  • To oversee the cleanliness of designated areas, following established procedures for morning and evening routines as well as hygiene standards.
  • To assist in task distribution for mise en place and ensure timely completion of assigned duties.
  • To monitor and replace any soiled or damaged napkins with clean, usable items.
  • To take charge of service in the assigned restaurant area during shifts.
  • To aid the Floor Manager in developing and presenting training programs, briefings, and standard operating procedures.
  • To ensure that sideboards and stations are adequately stocked with necessary items, including cutlery and napkins.
  • To supervise the order-taking process by waitstaff and ensure proper execution by the relevant personnel.
  • To maintain thorough knowledge of all menu item compositions.
  • To oversee the serving of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to established standards and delivering service in a courteous manner.
  • To uphold table maintenance standards, ensuring guests are comfortable and at ease.
  • To ensure accurate billing and payment processing in accordance with company procedures.
  • To maintain strong customer relations, assisting guests while ensuring the comfort of all patrons.
  • To direct any customer complaints to the restaurant or general manager as necessary.
  • To conduct on-the-job training to ensure staff effectiveness in their roles.
  • To consistently uphold the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress code.
  • To ensure all staff members maintain exemplary standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
  • To participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • To report any suspicious items to management immediately.
  • To engage in fire or evacuation drills, familiarizing oneself with all exits, including those used by customers and fire escapes.
  • To keep all records for the floor department updated at the beginning and end of each shift, including setup and breakdown checklists, fire exit checks, and cleaning checklists.
  • To lead by example and provide support to staff in every possible way.
  • To prepare section assignments at the start of each shift.
  • To cover for waitstaff during breaks as needed.
  • To engage with guests at each table, gathering feedback and relaying it to the Floor Manager or General Manager.
  • To perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
