Assistant Floor Manager

POSITION TYPE:

REPORTING TO:

Floor Manager

OBJECTIVES:

  • To aid the Floor Manager in the coordination and oversight of service on the dining floor.
  • To assist in the preparation of the establishment, ensuring all necessary setups are ready for service.
  • To possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu items and provide detailed explanations when requested.
  • To treat our patrons with the utmost respect and care.

DUTIES:

  • To adhere to our established Cycle of Service consistently.
  • To guarantee that service is conducted in a professional manner and aligns with the standards set by the Floor Manager.
  • To oversee the cleanliness of designated areas following established procedures and hygiene standards.
  • To assist in task distribution for mise en place and ensure timely completion of assigned duties.
  • To ensure that soiled or damaged linens are counted and replaced with clean items.
  • To take charge of service in the assigned area during shifts.
  • To support the Floor Manager in developing and delivering training programs and standard operating procedures.
  • To monitor service stations and ensure they are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • To supervise the order-taking process by staff and ensure accurate communication to the kitchen.
  • To be thoroughly knowledgeable about the composition of all menu offerings.
  • To oversee the serving of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to established standards and a courteous approach.
  • To maintain table standards, ensuring guests are comfortable and well-attended.
  • To ensure accurate billing and payment processing in line with the establishment's procedures.
  • To consistently practice excellent customer relations, assisting guests without disrupting service to others.
  • To escalate customer complaints to the management team as necessary.
  • To conduct on-the-job training to empower staff in their roles.
  • To uphold the highest standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
  • To ensure all team members maintain exemplary standards of hygiene and dress code.
  • To participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  • To report any suspicious items to management immediately.
  • To engage in fire or evacuation drills and be familiar with all exits.
  • To ensure all records related to the floor operations are maintained accurately at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • To lead by example and provide support to staff in all aspects of their roles.
  • To prepare section assignments at the start of each shift.
  • To cover for staff during breaks as needed.
  • To engage with guests at each table to gather feedback and relay it to management.
  • To fulfill any other reasonable requests made by management.
