Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive pediatric healthcare to patients, adhering to the latest evidence-based practices and in compliance with Al-Futtaim Health Medical Staff bylaws and regulations.
  • Engage in the on-call roster fairly.
  • Oversee and mentor junior medical personnel within the department.
  • Contribute to the educational initiatives of the medical staff collectively.
  • Conduct clinical audits in accordance with medical advisory committee standards.
  • Participate in strategic planning and review activities pertinent to the growth of the department and healthcare facility.
  • Engage in promotional activities to enhance the visibility of the department and Al-Futtaim Health within the broader medical community of the UAE.
  • Maintain professional competency in all facets of pediatric care through continuous education.
  • Perform additional duties aligned with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
  • Responsible for delivering specialist-level patient care in pediatrics.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical and nursing staff, as well as referring physicians.
  • Engage in research and stay informed about current trends and advancements in the field.
  • Commit to ongoing medical education.
  • Exhibit the ability to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Show dedication to quality improvement for enhanced health outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to ethical medical practices as per local regulations.
  • Make informed diagnoses based on patient medical histories, examinations, and test results.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to gain insights into underlying health issues.
  • Prescribe medications and provide detailed instructions for their administration.
  • Make independent, professional decisions regarding presenting medical issues, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals.
  • Offer expert clinical insights related to pediatric care and take full responsibility for patient management.
  • Develop and implement healthcare management plans in collaboration with patients, aligning with current treatment protocols.
  • Provide holistic care and health education.
  • Manage patient admissions and discharges, ensuring appropriate referrals to other healthcare providers.
  • Conduct thorough and systematic patient assessments, managing care in accordance with clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with other specialist services to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Prescribe medications in line with established practice guidelines and protocols.
  • Fulfill all standard duties and responsibilities associated with a Specialist Pediatrician, working alongside primary care providers.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience and proficiency in all aspects of pediatric clinical practice.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Excellent presentation and analytical abilities.
  • Leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

  • MBBS or MBchB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution AND completion of a specialty qualification recognized by the Dubai Health Authority, Health Authority of Abu Dhabi, or Ministry of Health UAE.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a specialist level since obtaining the higher qualification.
