Senior Art Director MEA Job Description

Bloomberg Media Studios is seeking a highly skilled Senior Art Director to lead our Middle East and Africa studio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing innovative motion graphics designs that tell compelling stories and engage our audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop creative ideas that align with client objectives and audience needs, utilizing Bloomberg's proprietary data and insights.
  • Design motion graphics that express narrative ideas across various formats, including storyboards, video, graphics, digital destinations, live events, and more.
  • Collaborate with the MEA Studio team and global design leadership to advocate for best-in-class ideas and design solutions for clients.
  • Establish visual systems for branded storytelling across formats, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and social platforms to deliver high-quality work that meets Bloomberg's standards.
  • Participate in proactive proposals and brainstorms to push the studio's unique value for clients.
  • Communicate the vision and rationale of the work to external and internal teams in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Work effectively as an individual contributor and director when collaborating with production partners and freelancers.
  • Proactively seek out new talent to grow the studio's freelance network.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in design, motion graphics, and video storytelling, with a strong background in social work.
  • Expertise in crafting branded storytelling and corresponding social promotional campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a plus for web design software (Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD).
  • Highly collaborative approach with a team of writers, editors, and animators.
  • Fluency across deliverables that fit a cross-channel approach (style frames and/or storyboards for video, motion assets for immersive experiences, etc.).
  • Impeccable design portfolio demonstrating a mix of digital and motion graphics.
  • Ability to provide timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes and keep work on budget and schedule.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure the ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with strategy teams to synthesize results into meaningful design decisions.
  • Experience developing creative for RFPs, including mocks, mood boards, and written ideas.
