We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Radisson Beach Resort Palm Jumeirah. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide and maintain high standards of property maintenance, demonstrating both reactive and preventive knowledge.
  • Maintain the building, grounds, and plant equipment with particular attention to safety, security, and asset protection.
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver services that exceed the expectations of guests and stakeholders while maximizing financial performance.
  • Ensure all work follows strict adherence to safe work practices and procedures, prioritizing the well-being and security of all involved.
  • Lead the emergency response team for all facility issues, demonstrating a remarkable ability to perform under pressure.
  • Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring integration of departmental goals in daily plans.
  • Highlight areas of concern to the leadership team and take ownership until the matter is resolved.
  • Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, boilers, and electrical systems, and any other building services per hotel's standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate leadership in implementing sustainability initiatives with a focus on guest experience.
  • Take responsibility for all work executed, by own or external contractors, on the building, plants, or technical installations.

Requirements:

  • College degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English (additional languages, especially Arabic, is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leveraging strong verbal and written skills to express departmental goals and ultimately produce desired results.
  • Organizational and leadership skills.
  • Time management and multi-tasking skills to deliver a timely action, even under pressure.
  • A hands-on attitude, backed by a "Yes, I can" spirit.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with owning company, general manager, and project managers.
  • Familiar with local government requirements and regulations.
  • Flexible work attitude.
  • Must be quality-focused in all aspects of their work-related duties.
