Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Support Specialist to join our team at ABB Dubai. As a key member of our design engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing innovative design solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop conceptual designs that meet project specifications and industry standards. Utilize engineering principles, CAD software, and other tools to create detailed designs and prototypes for testing and validation.
  • Design Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and design reports. Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Design Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and innovation. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design engineering.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to customers on design-related queries. Analyze customer issues and prepare root cause analysis based on industry standards.
  • System Studies: Perform system studies using ETAP software and provide consultancy services to customers by providing right solutions upon reviewing customer issues.
  • Process Development: Create standard processes and tools to promote the reuse of technical solutions. Coach less experienced designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design engineering practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
