Job Summary

Unique Group is seeking a highly experienced Lead Service Technician to join our survey team based in Sharjah. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and supervising cathodic protection surveys for offshore metallic structures, including pipelines, platforms, and subsea installations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cathodic Protection Surveys: Lead and supervise cathodic protection surveys for offshore metallic structures, including pipelines, platforms, and subsea installations.
  2. Coordinate Survey Activities: Coordinate survey activities, including mobilization, data collection, and demobilization, ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives.
Data Collection and Analysis
  1. CP Measurements: Conduct CP measurements using specialized equipment and instruments to assess the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems.
  2. Data Analysis: Analyze survey data, including potential measurements, pipe-to-soil potentials, and structure-to-electrolyte potentials, to evaluate corrosion risks and integrity concerns.
Interpretation and Reporting
  1. Survey Results: Interpret CP survey results and findings to identify areas of concern, corrosion hotspots, and deficiencies in cathodic protection systems.
  2. Survey Reports: Prepare detailed survey reports documenting CP measurements, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions or maintenance interventions.
Recommendations and Remediation
  1. Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and recommendations to address corrosion issues, optimize cathodic protection systems, and mitigate corrosion risks.
  2. Remediation Plans: Collaborate with engineering teams and clients to develop remediation plans, including installation of sacrificial anodes, rectifiers, and protective coatings.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
  1. Quality Control: Implement quality control measures and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of CP survey data and assessments.
  2. Industry Standards: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to cathodic protection and corrosion management.
QHSSE Activities
  1. Company Management System: Adhere to Unique Group's integrated Management system and, when on site, client's Quality Management System.
  2. QHSE Management System: Comply with Unique Group's QHSE Management System.
  3. Reporting Unsafe Conditions: Report any unsafe act or unsafe condition; Stop and challenge any work that is considered unsafe.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Identify and initiate actions to prevent occurrence of non-conformities in process or system.
  5. QHSE Culture: Promote a positive QHSE culture in the workplace.
  6. Safety Performance: Responsible for continuous improvement of safety performance.
Job Qualifications
  1. Academic Qualification: Any Bachelor's Degree in Engineering – Mechatronics, Electronic & Communication, Instrumentation & Communication.
  2. Certification or Training: Certification or training in Cathodic Protection (e.g., NACE CP Level 3) is highly desirable.
  3. Experience: Previous experience in cathodic protection surveys and corrosion monitoring, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  4. CP Survey Techniques: Proficiency in CP survey techniques, equipment, and data analysis tools.
  5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  6. Communication and Report Writing Skills: Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  7. Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and manage survey teams effectively in a dynamic offshore environment.
  8. Corrosion Mechanisms and Cathodic Protection Principles: Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, cathodic protection principles, and industry standards.
  9. Survey Equipment and Activities: Knowledge of survey equipment and activities.
  10. Customer Service and Communication Skills: Possess good customer service and communication skills.
  11. MS Office Tools: Conversant with MS Office tools like M.S Word, M.S Excel, and M.S PowerPoint, ERP System, etc.
  12. Project Management Skills: Project management skills.
  13. Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented.
